EDITOR’S CHOICE, Winner—Dell Latitude D820

Final Words

While the Editor’s Choice must undoubtedly go to the Latitude we would be remiss if we did not give a special mention to the HP Compaq nc6400. This unit is not as spectacular as the Dell when used a desktop machine but it performs on battery power without suffering a short life between charges.

In the end, personal needs must dictate the buying decision you make, and your own preferences could well vary markedly from our own.

Consider your priorities—is it for powerful processing, long battery life, connectivity, durability or a combination of these factors? If one or more properties are less crucial then a cheaper machine can be considered.
