From MDI to SOA

From MDI to SOA

From MDI to SOA, integration specialists BEA and E2E have a lot to say about the business trends of today.

Covington

Often you see that with product lines of companies that have grown by acquisition the products are only integrated at the marketing level, whereas the customer is faced with a zoo of tools just barely working together. Do you have any recommendations for what customers should do in this scenario?

Cole

BEA was one of the pioneers to establish a graphical pre-integrated development environment for Java which takes away the complexity of using different tools in different development environment. We continue our leadership in simplifying the development environment for SOA by proving the AquaLogic product family which is the first suite of service infrastructure products that are essentially configuration-based tools designed for use by business focused analysts and developers.

If you were a sports hero who would you be and why?

Covington

Lance Armstrong, seven times Tour De France winner and he overcame cancer. Lance is a fighter and knows what it takes to succeed in life, cycling and business with clear focus, leadership, teamwork and single mindedness to seize opportunity in the eye of adversity. I am inspired by his passion and overall professional fighting spirit to value competitors in the heat of competition.

If you were a cocktail what would you be?

Cole

Coco Colada—non-alcoholic, made from pineapple, coconut juice and plenty of crushed ice—refreshing, ideal for any time of the day and very healthy.
